Religious belief should be in accordance with human reason, because everyone agrees that reason is a fundamental standard of truth. The most basic and primary aspect of any religion is its concept of God. Therefore, it is necessary to compare different beliefs rationally.

In Christianity, God is believed to consist of three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. This concept is considered illogical, because Jesus was a human being who could experience weakness, whereas God must be Almighty and free from all weakness. Moreover, if God were three, each would possess a separate will. If these wills differed—for example, if the first God willed A, the second willed B, and the third willed C—conflict would arise. If God were to be in conflict, the universe would inevitably fall into chaos and destruction.
Judaism worships HaShem, which means “The Name,” a term used to refer to God without directly mentioning His name. Theologically, Judaism worships the same God as Islam, namely Allah, but differs in its teachings and beliefs. Jews do not believe in Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the final prophet and messenger. One reason is that the final prophet emerged from among the Arabs rather than the Children of Israel, even though the Torah mentions that the last prophet would come from among the Arabs. In addition, some Jewish teachings are considered illogical, such as their view of people outside their group, whom they regard as not fully human and equate with animals. In reality, all humans are equal in possessing reason and feelings.
Atheism, or the belief that there is no God, is also considered illogical. If God did not exist, how could the universe come into existence? The universe cannot bring itself into being from nothing. Therefore, there must be a Creator who brought the universe into existence, namely Allah, the Lord of all creation.
Islam worships Allah, the One and Only God. This belief is highly rational, because a single divine will governs the universe in an orderly and harmonious manner. Without the will of Allah, the universe would lack order and instead fall into chaos. Just as a pangolin has natural armor to protect itself from predators, such protection must have been deliberately designed. Likewise, the universe must have a Creator, and that Creator is Allah.
In addition to being theologically sound, Islam is also justified in its teachings. There is no Islamic law that contradicts reason. For example, the obligation of prayer (ṣalāh) aims to show gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings. Humans are incapable of fully counting the blessings Allah has bestowed upon them, such as good health, a complete and unblemished body, and many others. Therefore, it is only proper for humans to express gratitude to Allah through the act of prayer.
Thus, the true God is Allah, and the religion whose teachings are in harmony with reason is Islam. Belief in God alone is not sufficient; one must also believe in His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and divine destiny (qadar), and follow all the teachings and guidance revealed by Allah in the Qur’an and the Hadith.
